What kinds of accommodation do you have?

Three types. Geodesic glamping domes sleeping two with a private bathroom and air conditioning, safari tents sleeping four with a shared bathroom block, and bring-your-own pitches with power and water on the eastern ridge. We have eight domes, six safari tents and twenty pitches.

How much is a night?

Glamping domes are AED 890 per night midweek and AED 1,150 Thursday to Saturday, breakfast for two included. Safari tents are AED 520 midweek and AED 650 on weekends. Bring-your-own pitches are AED 180 per night for up to six people and one vehicle, with extra vehicles at AED 50.

When is the camp open?

We open from 1 October to 15 May and close for the summer. Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM; late check-out until 2:00 PM is AED 150 when we have the space. Reception is staffed from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM and a night warden is on site around the clock.

Do I need a 4x4 to get to you?

No. The access track from the Al Qudra cycle track roundabout is graded and firm and a normal saloon car makes it comfortably. Pitches on the eastern ridge are the only soft-sand section and we shuttle your kit out there in a Land Cruiser at no charge if you would rather not risk it.

What food is available on site?

The mess tent serves breakfast from 7:00 to 10:30 AM at AED 65, and a set dinner at 7:30 PM for AED 120 with a vegetarian option that must be requested by 4:00 PM. There is a small shop for ice, water, charcoal and basics. You are welcome to self-cater and every pitch has a fire ring.

Are children and dogs welcome?

Children of all ages are welcome and under-fives stay free in domes and tents. Dogs are allowed on bring-your-own pitches and in safari tents at AED 60 per stay, but not inside the domes. Dogs must be leashed anywhere in the camp because we share the reserve with oryx and gazelle.

What activities do you run?

A guided sunrise dune walk at 6:00 AM is free for guests, and we run a two-hour stargazing session with a telescope on clear nights for AED 95 per person. Fat-bike hire is AED 120 for half a day. The Al Qudra lakes and the 86km cycle track start eight minutes from our gate.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancel more than seven days before arrival and you get a full refund. Between seven days and 48 hours we refund half, and inside 48 hours the first night is charged. If the camp closes for a sandstorm or a red weather warning we refund in full or move your dates, your choice.

What should I bring?

Warm layers — desert nights in January drop to 9°C even when the day hit 26°C. Also a torch, sunscreen and closed shoes for the dunes. Bring-your-own pitches need your own tent, bedding and cooking kit; domes and safari tents come with linen, towels and blankets.
